Diversity Advisory Committee

This committee advises laboratory leadership on opportunities to promote diversity in hiring and outreach programs. It is chaired by Associate Director of User Programs Alex Lacerda.

• James Brooks, professor of physics at Florida State University and director of the Magnet Lab’s Condensed Matter Science-Experimental program
• Emmanuel Collins, professor and associate chair of graduate studies with the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Florida A&M University-Florida State University College of Engineering
• Tim Cross, professor of chemistry and biochemistry at FSU and director of the Magnet Lab’s Nuclear Magnetic Resonance program
• Renisha Gibbs, director of diversity enhancement and compliance, Florida State University
• Ricardo Jacquez, professor of civil engineering, New Mexico State University
• Debra Walker King, associate professor of English and associate provost for faculty development at the University of Florida
• Alex Lacerda, associate director of User Programs and director of the Magnet Lab branch at Los Alamos
• Nancy Marcus, professor, dean of graduate studies at Florida State University
• Cynthia McIntyre, chief of staff and associate vice president for policy and planning, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute
• Bettina Roberson, human resources manager, Magnet Lab
• Neil Sullivan, professor of physics at the University of Florida and director of the lab’s High B/T user program
• Ralph Turner, professor and director of the Florida – Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (FGLSAMP) program, Florida A&M University

Diversity Committee

The Diversity Committee is chaired by Dragana Popovic, a scholar/scientist in the Condensed Matter Science-Experimental program. The committee is charged with coordinating and implementing recommendations from the Diversity Advisory Committee.
