Brian P. Fairhurst: Associate Lab Director

Brian Fairhurst

The Associate Lab Director directs, oversees and integrates the physical and administrative infrastructure of a national laboratory with a $50 million annual operating budget from federal, state and other funding sources. He oversees lab management and administration, which includes facilities, human resources, printing services, budgeting and other administrative functions.

Fairhurst, who jointed the Magnet Lab in 2001, earned his B.S. (Honors) degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Leeds, England. He was appointed Deputy Director for Management and Administration in 2002 by founding Director Jack Crow.

Prior to joining the lab, Fairhurst had more than 22 years of national and international experience in aerospace and industrial management. This experience with Fortune 100 companies throughout the U.S., Europe, Latin America and the Asia-Pacific region has included successive engineering, manager, director and vice president responsibilities for high growth, internal start-up, restructuring, project/program management, and new product development and promotion.
