2013 Summer Science Camp

The application period for the 2013 camp is now closed. Applicants will hear back by May 1, 2013.

The Magnet Lab Summer Science Camp is a hands-on summer camp run by the National High Magnetic Field Lab. The camp provides hands-on enrichment activities for rising 6th, 7th, and 8th graders who express a keen interest in science and engineering and want to develop a better understanding of physics. We offer two one-week camps for both boys and girls who will work collaboratively on engineering projects, participate in field trips, and interact with scientists and engineers.

2013 Camp Details

  • Dates: June 10-14, June 17-21 (Campers may only attend one week)
  • Cost: $200 for one week
  • Camp hours: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday

During their one-week experience, campers can expect:

  • An exposure to a wide range of physics disciplines
  • Indoor experiences (labs, lectures, demonstrations)
  • Field trips to increase scientific knowledge
  • Interactions with local scientists and science educators
