QX3 and QX5 Microscopes

Through our Classroom Outreach program, the Center offers students the use of the Intel Qx5 computer microscope, an updated version of the QX3 microscope (pictured below). These microscopes produce cool, detailed images, and let you do many things you cannot do with a typical microscope, including:

• See tiny things on your computer
• Take the microscope off its base stand for magnified viewing
• Build a collection of your discoveries and creations
• Produce your own movies and slide shows
• Magnify objects by 10X, 60X and even 200X and view them on your PC
