Summer Institutes
What floats your squash? Teachers examine the mysteries of mass, density and veggies.

The Center for Integrating Research & Learning provides innovative, content-rich workshops for teachers at all levels. Our programs are designed to address local, state and national mandates to provide quality science instruction and correlate to state and national standards. Designed for teachers of grades K through 12, these workshops provide strategies for engaging students in inquiry-based, hands-on science.

Led by the Center's staff, teachers try out the activities themselves so they will have the confidence to bring them into their own classrooms. Content in natural science and the process of scientific inquiry accompanies practice with equipment and materials.

The focus of the workshops can be designed to address specific needs and school improvement plans. For more information or to schedule a workshop, please contact Center Director Roxanne Hughes at hughes@magnet.fsu.edu or (850) 645-8179.
