Deadline Extended

The deadline to register for the workshop has been extended to Sept. 15, 2009.

The 14th US-Japan Workshop on Advanced Superconductors will take place Dec. 14-15, 2009, in Tallahassee, Florida, USA. The workshop is organized and supported by the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory and the The Applied Superconductivity Center at Florida State University.

Program

The workshop will cover the following research fields of superconductivity:

  • BSCCO Wires, Cables, and Applications
  • YBCO Coated Conductors, Bulk, and Applications
  • Critical Current and AC loss
  • Thin Films and Device Applications
  • Structure, Characterization, and New Materials
  • Advanced Metal Superconductors

  • Dec. 13 (Sunday): Arrive in Tallahassee
  • Dec. 14 (Monday): Registration/Workshop: Banquet at Wakulla Springs
  • Dec. 15 (Tuesday): Workshop
  • Dec. 16 (Wednesday): Tours at the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Center for Advanced Power Systems and the Applied Superconductivity Center

Registration

The registration fee is $285. Download registration form (Word document). Deadline to register has been extended to Sept. 15, 2009.

Hotel Reservations

Rooms have been reserved at the Doubletree Hotel, at 101 S. Adams St. in downtown Tallahassee. The rate is $105 plus tax per night.
