Research Interests:
Present work encompasses research in high strength composites and their optimization with conductors in magnets to produce pulsed magnetic fields in the 100T range non-destructively.
Magnet technology development including: composites design & fabrication, coil mechanics and 3D stress analysis lead and transition systems.
Practical implementation of research and development to produce logistically viable magnet systems for operation at the NHMFL-Los Alamos facility
Superconducting Magnet Technology: including conductor design, quench heater design & testing, protection circuit component design, coil testing, the study of magnetic properties of cryogenic steels and welds, and the persistent joint development for the NbTi, Nb3Sn, and high Tc circuits.
Cryogenic test fixtures and tooling for research and development.
