The Advanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Spectroscopy program (AMRIS) contains facilities for the Mag Lab's NMR Program that complement the facilities at the lab's headquarters in Tallahassee. AMRIS is located at the University of Florida's McKnight Brain Institute.

Animal Care Facilities

AMRIS
This 128 MHz, 3.0 tesla magnet joined
the AMRIS arsenal in 2007.

The AMRIS facility is approved for animal use by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). Animal use rooms undergo biannual review by UF IACUC and are maintained to the highest standards for such use. AMRIS has the industry’s best noninvasive monitoring and animal care equipment. In-building animal housing is available for rodent, rabbit and feline species with remote facilities for housing large animals and primates. Veterinary and husbandry staff are available 24 hours a day. Special rooms are available for housing, veterinary care and procedures, surgery, behavior, quarantine, necropsy and various BSL requirements. The program is fully accredited by the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC). The facility occupies 75,000 square feet of versatile and well-equipped animal care space, including operating rooms and limited radiological examination rooms.
