Arrow2013 User Summer School: Accommodations & Transportation

Housing at Regans Hall

The housing will be free and available on Sunday, May 12 (during normal working hours) and end at noon on Saturday, May 18. Housing is located at 942 Learning Way in Ragans Hall (on the corner of Jefferson Street and Woodward Avenue) on the Florida State University Main Campus (see online campus map). Students will be housed in Ragans Hall building 1 but need to check into building 2, where the office is. The office building can be reached from Jefferson side or Learning Way side. Once students are at the office, the housing staff will direct them to their rooms.

The apartments were renovated within the past few years. Each has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a common living area and a kitchen shared by both students. These apartments are set up to accommodate four students, but during the User Summer School only two students share one apartment, which will provide extra space. All linens are provided.

The rooms will be available for check-in between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12 and check-out takes place between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, when the correct key has been returned. When checking in and out, initial the Check-In and Check-Out Register. It is expected that students leave the room in the same condition as was provided at the check-in. If keys or access cards get lost, students have to pay for the replacement ($15 for access card and $50 for the room key). Staff personnel are available 24 hours a day to assist you if you have a problem. Quiet hours are 9:00 p.m. – 9 a.m. No smoking, alcohol or drugs are permitted.

Students are expected to abide by the Housing Procedures and Regulations. (PDF)

Internet

You will receive an email with a username and password to access the wireless service FSUWIN at the Ragan’s Hall. Please review FSU’s Internet Privacy Policy and for assistance, contact the Help Desk at 850-644-HELP or email at help@fsu.edu.

Transportation

Students are responsible for transportation to and from Tallahassee and between the airport and summer school housing.

Transportation will be provided to and from the dorm to the MagLab Monday through Friday. Please wait for the vans at the corner of Jefferson Street and Woodward Avenue at 7:45 a.m. on Monday. The vans will have a placard on the dash identifying it as a MagLab User Summer School van.

Parking

Parking is not easily available at the campus. If students have a vehicle, they should check out what is open for general parking around Ragan’s Hall during the summer semester. Usually, it is allowed to park in lots from 5pm to 8am without getting a ticket. The vehicle can also be parked at the Magnet Lab and students can ride back and forth in the van.
